Menopause – free therapy you never knew about

The time after Emergence is known as Second Spring and heralds the birth of the new person. With clear boundaries, discernment, a sense of her own needs and pleasures, this person resembles the teenager she once was, but with 40 years of life experience behind her. She is awesome in her capacity to be vulnerable and to hold her authority. She is compassionate and able to offer herself in service to the world, without sacrificing herself in the process. This is where menopause takes you if you choose to engage with it. If this has you saying Yes please! Check out my article on Rebelle Society about how to use menopause as free therapy...

What I read in 2019

Back in the last century, I used to wander the pavements reading as I went, falling into potholes and risking my life crossing London streets. Then I moved out of town, had kids and for some time read very little. This year as I'm researching for my book on menopause, I have made up for the years of mothering by gobbling up books like the starving bookworm I am. Don't be put off if menopause isn't your thing, there's also memoir, magical tales, classics, spirituality, menstruality, marriage, relationships, literature, reassuring charmers, rock and roll, family, grief and re-birth... something for everyone. Inspired by Rachael Crow, in no ...

The Path of Menopause

Menopause is free spiritual therapy, it offers everything we pray that regular meditation and the perfect therapist will deliver if we choose to engage with it. There are broadly three parts to it: Stripping away of our defences - SeparationAsking us to stand in the unknown - SurrenderEmerging tenderly back into the world - Emergence All physical and emotional manifestations, all the stuff we fear and complain about is in the service of our re-birth as more present, authentic, happier people. But wouldn’t it be less terrifying if we knew the path we had to tread beforehand? This article will give you an idea of the journey of menopause and ...

Yoga Nidra for Menopause

I am very excited to share my four, brand new Nidras I've recorded especially for menopause; one for each phase and then one for Second Spring, which are now available for you to buy in my shop. Hooray! The magic pill for menopause is to slow down and rest, and then when you think you've done that, rest some more. One of the biggest gifts I've received has been Yoga Nidra which I've used pretty much daily for the last four years. Here are the Yoga Nidras I've created for menopause: Separation – bringing release and softness in perimenopause Surrender – bringing kindness and reassurance to both body and spirit Emergenc...

Why Does Menopause Hurt So Bad?

Why does menopause hurt so bad? I mean really? All it is is the natural shift in hormones as our menstruating life comes to an end and our 'second spring' emerges. It's a shift from taking care of 'them out there' to taking care of ourselves; shouldn't that be easier and more joyful? One late summer morning I got up with a bee in my bonnet on this issue and did a Facebook live to think it through. Click on the image below to watch the vid. What I didn't go into, but will maybe get a bee in my bonnet about another day, is a lot of the pain is down to our culture not valuing age in general and older women in particular. Grrrr. Sadly the offer of ...
