As a self-employed wellbeing person, there are precious few places to safely share the joys and struggles of your calling. The circle gives access to feedback from skilled practitioners from a diverse range of modalities, time for reflection, to receive mentoring, to build and deepen professional relationships, to ask ‘is this normal?’, to share tips, encouragement, cheerleading. To be witnessed, celebrated and to encourage the evolution of your practice and being; something usually only available from lengthy, expensive trainings.

The past five series of mentoring groups have proved to be richly nourishing and popular courses, and I now notice the need for something a little different. Practitioners generally know what they need to do for their practice to flourish in their own unique style, just needing the permission and external accountability to take the required steps.

This Practitioner Circle will be an intimate group, an open and free-flowing with space for everyone to bring their own issues and ponderings. This will bring much needed continuity, spaciousness and nuance for you to lean into; so needed in this noisy, performative world.

Each session we will start with movement or meditation, a check in, then there will be space to share. You can ask for witnessing, feedback, others’ experiences or mentoring. We close with a grounding practice. There will be a dedicated WhatsApp group to share loving accountability.

Who is this designed for?

These sessions will be most appropriate for practitioners who identify as sensitive, neurodivergent or neurotypical, and whose authenticity and ethics are particularly important to them, it’s likely you will also be in perimenopause or menopause too. This creates a particularly chewy paradox that you feel most passionate about your work, but your sensitivity is high and your capacity low.  All practitioners are welcome, including Yoga teachers, bodyworkers, coaches, psychotherapists, facilitators etc.

What people say

I signed up for Kate’s Mentoring group as soon as I first heard about it.  From reading and following her work I felt she would be the right person to hold the space for a menopause related mentor group.  The group of women were wholly supported, there was no judgement but great kindness and compassion, so needed not only at this time of life but in the world we currently live in.

I enjoyed the monthly check ins which were helpful to stay true to my intentions and really helped me see the small progresses.  I really enjoyed the weekly what’s app message, a great start to the week to set yourself using the great female power that we all have inside us but so often forget about. I throughly enjoyed the space that was created by Kate and the beautiful curated small group of women.

Kate is warm, witty and grounded, and an exceptional space holder. The Professional Mentoring Group has been a potent resource for developing ourselves personally within the context of our professional fields. A unique opportunity to focus on developing my work alongside other therapists has felt supportive and enlightening. Thanks Kate.

The Professional Mentoring group has been such a welcome container for support, exploring and simply being with other women navigating similar work and paths. I really valued being invited and encouraged to share what I needed; whether that be listening, encouragement, advice, suggestions. Over the course of the group, I have developed some practical aspects of my work, enabled some creative desires and found more peace, ease and rootedness in my work.

I really liked the ‘realness’ of the group which gave permission for the full spectrum of experience to emerge ie. no sugar coating, no false promises, no steps to follow but a lot of listening, allowing, acknowledgment, curiosity.  I feel that the holding you offered to each of us worked quietly to help us feel more whole and  more available to ourselves and therefore to others.  I felt able to voice some deep truths about the direction of my business which took me to an uncomfortable edge, which was difficult but very much needed and has led to an expansion in my ideas and more clarity, focus and confidence.  This is subtle but profound work.

As a soul-led business, supporting women in vulnerable transition points in their lives, I was looking for a connection and community to support me, and my business, through my own transition point. And Kate’s Professional Mentoring Group was just what I needed. A small group of women, held, supported, and nudged with curious questions felt like it nurtured us all, enabling me to show up as truly myself, and connect to what I really wanted to offer the world, and how I wanted to offer it. Thank you Kate for creating this lovely space.

For me, Kate’s got the stuff that’s sometimes missing from spaces where we seek and need holding. She’s incredibly compassionate, champions her clients, shares your victories and empathizes with your challenges. She’s the gentle guidance we all need whilst “doing the work,” AND mind-boggling knowledgable – in the most humble, lighthearted kind of way. I’ve worked with her for 3 years now and am changed for the better for it. The value you gain by working with her in all areas of your life is beyond worth the time and money spent. Thank the Goddess I somehow had the good fortune of finding her! My confidence has skyrocketed and my clients benefit too …Thank you Kate x

About Kate

All my vulnerability and patterns show up in running my business and they can be even more tender than those in my personal life! After more than 30 years working in this sector, I know for sure I cannot do my work alone, so I have many circles of support in place for my professional life. This includes Listening Partnerships, a listening circle, paid supervision as well as my ongoing CPD which you can read about here.  I also regard my personal therapy, yoga and mindfulness practice as professional self-care. If you choose to join the Practitioners Circle you will be held by many arms!

After more than thirty years in complementary therapy, I have also had many difficult experiences of supervision and professional support over the years, and have learned a great deal from not being met. As a result I create confidential, ‘safe-enough’, responsive spaces where through compassionately embracing the messiness of our seasons and phases as we grow, we can use our skills and gifts to best serve our communities in a sustainable way.

I am a mentor, author, speaker, facilitator, artist and podcaster. My first book Second Spring: the self-care guide to menopause, is part of the ‘menopause cannon’ according to the New York Times. I mentor people in perimenopause and beyond, and professionals 1-2-1 and in groups, I’m a nature-based Yoga Nidra meditation guide, host Life – An Inside Job podcast, have been a therapist for more than 30 years and create multi-level art textile projects. When I’m not doing these things you’ll find me playing in my compost heaps. My second book, The Perimenopause Journal, was published September 2024 and I’m currently working on a book that covers postmenopause to end of life.
