Is menopause the ugly sister of menstrual cycle awareness?

Why has menopause been largely ignored in the world of menstrual cycle awareness? What do we do with the grief and anger that can arise in our 40’s? Do we even need to be thinking about menopause in our 30’s? And if so, why?

I sat down with my friend and colleague Claire Baker founder of Cycle Coach School to talk about all of this on Instagram, and along the way, Claire shared some of her own feelings about the chapter of life she’s in and the fears she has about ‘what comes next?’. I shared some of my experience of menopause and why we’ve got it all wrong when we approach menopause as simply an ending.

When it’s also very much a beginning.

We also spoke about the ‘second summer’ for those in their mid-60s and how our menstrual cycles can actually help us to be better friends/family members to those in different life stages for us.
