Cathi Rae, poet, spoken word artist and model is hot, outspoken, sharp-suited, out there, often naked on Instagram and has a lot to say about how ageing women are viewed.
We talk about how we view ageing bodies, what to wear, the insanity of the fashion industry, being naked on Instagram, the inequalities present in ageing and the misery of greige.
In her professional life, she has recently been funded by The British Research Council to work on a PhD on poetry and marginalised lives – proof that it’s possible to start a new career at 60.
She is active in challenging ageism in the fashion industry and promotes body positivity/body normativity via her Instagram @cathirae showing images of her perfectly ordinary, ageing body to make older women visible/attractive and vibrant.
