Yoga Nidra for Emotional Integration
£5.00
A powerful, advanced, and deeply restorative practice for meeting challenges with kindness, curiosity and the wisdom of the body.
We all carry feelings that haven’t quite found their place. This trauma-informed Yoga Nidra offers your body the time and space to gently integrate them, without fixing, analysing or understanding. Rest deeply, trust your body’s intelligence to soften and find greater ease, resilience and inner spaciousness without effort.
Description
We all carry emotions that haven’t quite found their place: grief, anger, fear, or shame. Sometimes we don’t even know what we’re feeling except that it feels terrible. Sometimes it’s loud and impossible to ignore. Sometimes they go quiet, lurking beneath numbness, exhaustion or a constant urge to keep busy.
This Yoga Nidra offers another way.
Rather than analysing, fixing or trying to think your way through difficult emotions, you’ll be gently guided into a state of deep rest where your body can begin to do what it already knows how to do: integrate your experience.
This is an advanced practice and not recommended for those new to Yoga Nidra, or for those who are in active trauma or are under-resourced.
Grounded in Yoga Nidra and inspired by the work of Jennifer Piercy, this practice uses a gentle process called pendulation; moving between difficult sensations and their opposite, to help your nervous system discover more spaciousness, flexibility and ease. As you rest, emotions are given permission to soften, shift and find their own place, without force or pressure.
There is nothing to solve here.
No need to understand.
No right way to feel.
Simply an invitation to trust the intelligence of your body.
This practice is especially supportive if you:
- feel stuck
- find yourself overthinking
- want a compassionate way to process life’s challenges
- are moving through change, loss or uncertainty
- long to feel more whole, grounded and connected to yourself
- would like an ongoing practice of gentle emotional hygiene
Throughout this trauma-informed practice you’ll be supported to cultivate a sense of safety before exploring whatever is present, and given permission to tune out/turn off if needed. You’ll be reminded that numbness, confusion and even falling asleep are all welcome responses. There is nothing to get right.
By the end, you may notice a greater sense of calm, perspective and inner spaciousness, not because anything has been forced to change, but because something has been allowed.
Like all Yoga Nidra, this is a practice of profound rest. Sometimes the deepest healing happens when we simply get out of our own way.
Length: 33 minutes
Best enjoyed: Somewhere private, warm and comfortable where you can sit or lie down without interruption. Afterwards, allow yourself a few quiet moments before returning to your day.
Come as you are. Your body already knows the way home.
