Second Spring press and reviews

I’ve been so chuffed with the kind words and reviews of Second Spring in the press. There are more kind words on the Amazon page, but don’t forget you can also get your copy from our favourite independent bookseller!

‘I can’t recommend this book highly enough. My favourite book on menopause, and I’ve read many! I appreciate the framing of the menopause transition as a positive event, much needed in a sea of negativity. Kate writes beautifully, she’s funny, relatable, honest, and deeply compassionate. Like having the wisest woman and your best friend by your side, guiding you to slow down and treat yourself with the utmost kindness. Packed with important information and practical tips, beautiful guided meditations and relaxation audios. Being in peri-menopause, I fully related to the stages and experiences of the menopause experience. Most of all, emotionally balancing, deeply nourishing and spiritually fulfilling.’

The Independent ‘Indy Best’ Top 10 Self-Help Books 2022

Oh I loved this book! I’m 47 and in perimenopause and know that the guidance and wisdom in this book will be something I will be reading and re-reading many times over the coming years.

Guiding you through the psychological phases of the menopause transition it is practical, kind, down-to-earth and written with humour.

I have read a LOT of books on peri/menopause and, quite frankly, this book came as a massive relief after reading way too much about all the grisly potential ‘symptoms’!

And while the author does not shy away from addressing the potential physical & emotional impacts of this transition it is both comforting and inspirational to read about how the whole process can be embraced as a deeply transformational rite of passage into your truest self – the kind of person you want to be.

And it’s written by someone who has been through the menopause transition herself and is reporting back to us from the other side, as it were – a trusted source of wisdom!

I cannot recommend this book highly enough to anyone who will be going through / is currently in / has gone through the menopause transition (and to those who love them).

If you only read one book on menopause – make it this one!

June Magazine, late summer 2022

I am inhaling Second Spring. I’ve read it cover to cover over a long weekend, battened down from storm, and it’s blooming brilliant! It feels like a warm hug from a trusty friend, or big sister, who has walked this path ahead of me and is sharing the wisdom. I just love the tone it sets, and such good humour – I’ve found myself laughing out loud often and reading bits to my partner. It’s helping me make sense of the phases of the perimenopause transition in a way I haven’t grasped before, it really puts flesh on the bones and offers a very real, practical, nourishing way forward in a no messing kind of way. I am telling everyone in my Peri/Meno circles to get a copy! This is one of my favourite quotes, it has really struck me and named exactly where I am….thank you so much Kate, your book will help so many women xx

“It’s broken into short, really easy to digest sections, quotes, anecdotes, so it’s really easy to pick up when you have 5 minutes & just as easy to get lost in. I went through 3 highlighters reading it!” Alex Bannard, Frost Magazine 2.3.22
