a-love-letter

This week’s task is to reconnect with yourself as you were as a teen. This will help release you from patterns set up in your younger years AND set the tone for a joyous second spring.

Your task

This week it's a two-step process. It's best to write your love letter right after you've listened to the 10-minute meditation. If you can, give yourself an hour to really sink into the process and give it space. You’ll need a paper or journal and pen and it’s great to have a drink and something grounding to eat too.

You can listen to the meditation here

After the meditation, write your love letter to your teenage self, telling her everything she needed to hear at the time.

Once you’ve written your love letter you might like to read it to a friend later, to record yourself reading it, or maybe make a ritual around it.

Go very gently with yourself, this exercise can stir up all sorts of feelings. So go slow, be super-sweet with yourself this week.

Your focus

Your focus for the rest of the week is to see how you can connect lovingly with your teen self. You’ll find your own, special way of connecting from the meditation and the letter, but if you’re stuck here are some suggestions:

  • Giving time to do an activity you loved as a girl
  • Spending time dancing
  • Being in nature
  • Giggling and belly laughing
  • Hanging out with your friends
  • Cultivating an attitude of awe
  • Being more present in the moment

At the end of the week, it's helpful to write something down as you reflect back to see how things have unfolded for you. Don’t forget to be super-kind and your own best friend.

Have a wonderful week and I’ll see you next week!
