10am – 5pm Sunday 28th September 2025
The Oak House Studios, Hatfield House
As there is a rapid demand for professional support for perimenopause and menopause, your particular skills are needed more than ever. You already have the knowledge, qualifications, the protocols and understanding. What is seldom named is that your capacity to make a difference relates directly to your relationship with menopause and how accepting you are of your own vulnerabilities.
Wherever you are in your life, and even if you never mention a word about your experience, your relationship to perimenopause and menopause will be present and speak to clients powerfully. Working towards integrating your vulnerabilities will be a gift for your clients and for yourself. Whether or not you’re in perimenopause, you’re being asked to:
- Be responsive to your sensitivities
- Give yourself enough nourishment through rest, food and support
- Reduce the toxicity around you in food, people, addictive patterns and mindset
- Set loving boundaries for yourself and your clients
- Respect your current capacity, and work within that
- Honour your ethics and integrity, especially when money is tight
- Be kind to yourself when things are at their darkest
- Reduce your expectations of yourself
In a world rife with competition and comparison, we desperately need spaces to drop our burdens, let go and connect with people who get us, get our dilemmas and problems.
Our clients need us to show up in all our gloriously nerdy glory—because when we embrace our own weirdness, our life gets easier and we model what real, whole-istic wellbeing looks like.
You don’t have to do it alone; come and join us.
I liked the ‘realness’ of the group which gave permission for the full spectrum of experience to emerge ie. no sugar coating, no false promises, no steps to follow but a lot of listening, allowing, acknowledgment, curiosity. I felt able to voice some deep truths about the direction of my business which took me to an uncomfortable edge, which was difficult but very much needed and has led to an expansion in my ideas and more clarity, focus and confidence. This is subtle but profound work.

What’s on offer?
We’ll come together to land, greet each other and establish a ‘safe-enough’ place to be present in. We’ll take an embodied journey through perimenopause to postmenopause to feel the growthful opportunities of the transition from the inside with a Medicine Circle process. This will enable you to bring relief, insight and compassion for your own Autumns and Winters (if not menopausal then from mental or physical ill-health, bereavement for example), creating more ease and capacity for when you are with clients.
We’ll take a look at the issues that keep us from a congruent, easeful way of running our practice/business. We will identify and move towards integrating the voices that keep us small and conforming to conventional tropes and away from our nerdy, unique brilliance.
All practices and sharing are entirely optional, you can say no to it all and the day would still be well spent if you snoozed through it all, wrapped up in blankets: rest is the first requirement for working with perimenopause!
My intention is for you to understand and embody the growthful possibilities of menopause process from the inside, release the critical voices that hold you back, and bring compassion for your Autumnal and Wintery parts.
The day will be spacious with an emphasis on time for integration through movement, quiet and sharing.
What this day is not
A day for you to learn the physiology of perimenopause
For you to ‘qualify’ as a menopause professional
An intellectualised process with predictable learning outcomes
It is much more interesting than that:
- It’s an invitation to evolve your professional identity
- To find compassion and maybe integrate some trickier parts of yourself
- To validate your struggles
- To allow your body and your intuitive wisdom to guide the process
- To be surprised by the depth and nuance possible in a day retreat
- See how a more easeful way of being could inform your practice
- Access the power of sharing with a brilliant bunch of inspirational people.
- And perhaps find that the things you thought were weaknesses or failings may hold the path for your journey towards wholeness
Kate Codrington inspired and educated in her training around working theraputically with the menopause. Attendees were highly engaged and moved by Kate’s teaching as well as being resourced to work more confidently in this specialist area. We highly recommend her.

Who is it for?
This is a day of retreat for wellbeing professionals who either work with perimenopausal clients or who are perimenopausal themselves. All modalities are welcome, including coaches, therapists, bodyworkers, yoga teachers and other wellbeing practitioners, neurodiverse and neurotypical, who are looking for a safe, reflective day to nourish their working life. All genders welcome.
As a soul-led business, supporting women in vulnerable transition points in their lives, I was looking for a connection and community to support me, and my business, through my own transition point. A small group of women, held, supported, and nudged with curious questions felt like it nurtured us all, enabling me to show up as truly myself, and connect to what I really wanted to offer the world, and how I wanted to offer it. Thank you Kate for creating this lovely space.

Kate’s incredibly compassionate, champions her clients, shares your victories and empathizes with your challenges. She’s the gentle guidance we all need whilst “doing the work,” AND mind-boggling knowledgeable – in the most humble, light hearted kind of way. I’ve worked with her for 3 years now and am changed for the better for it. The value you gain by working with her in all areas of your life is beyond worth the time and money spent. My confidence has skyrocketed and my clients benefit too.

About Kate
All my vulnerability and patterns show up in running my business and they can be even more tender than those in my personal life! I cannot do my work alone, so I have many circles of support in place for my professional life. This includes Listening Partnerships, a listening circle, paid supervision as well as my ongoing CPD which you can read about here. I also regard my personal therapy, yoga and mindfulness practice as professional self-care. If you choose to join me for this retreat day you will be held by many arms!
After more than thirty years in complementary therapy, I have also had many difficult experiences of supervision and professional support over the years, and have learned a great deal from not being met. As a result I create confidential, ‘safe-enough’, responsive spaces where through compassionately embracing the messiness of our seasons and phases as we grow, we can use our skills and gifts to best serve our communities in a sustainable way.
All my offerings come from the understanding that you are not broken and don’t need fixing, and that given a safe-enough environment you can readily access your own wisdom or intuition. I take great care to set up a clear container with my personal practices along with guidelines and agreements with the group. I am always responsive to serving the energy and needs of the group and encourage everyone to take responsibility for their process, as far as possible. When things go wonky, I do my best to meet you and remedy the issue as best I can.
I am a mentor, author, speaker, facilitator, artist and podcaster. My first book Second Spring: the self-care guide to menopause, is part of the ‘menopause cannon’ according to the New York Times. I mentor people in perimenopause and beyond, and professionals 1-2-1 and in groups, I’m a nature-based Yoga Nidra meditation guide, host Life – An Inside Job podcast, have been a therapist for more than 30 years and create multi-level art textile projects. When I’m not doing these things you’ll find me playing in my compost heaps. My second book, The Perimenopause Journal, was published September 2024.
Please feel free to email me with questions if you’re tempted, but not sure if this day will suit you.
