Ending Biodynamic Therapy

I have had my final session with my therapist. I am deeply grateful for the experience and also very sad, I am mourning the loss of this wonderful supporter as time goes by. It’s been 7 years since I first asked if she would see me on a massage-only basis. I chose her because she was ‘clean’ by which I mean that in the small world of Biodynamic therapy, she had not taught me or supervised me and somehow we had never met. Remarkable in such a small community. In the beginning I started during an intensely busy time; I had full responsibility for the children and the house, two small businesses, I ran a networking group and volunteered for ...

What’s your current menopause challenge?

Taking a look at some of the common challenges that Medicine Circles address. One of the key aspects of receiving a Medicine Circle is creating an intention at the beginning of the process. Making your intention as clear as possible helps to focus the material and makes it easier to integrate it into our daily self-care. It takes a little while sometimes to really get to the nub of what needs answering, but there’s no rule. Sometimes they can be intensely practical – “How do I manage these night sweats?” Through the full spectrum of feeling stuck, physical pain, glum… all the way to spiritual guidance. Here are some of the most ...

Medicine Circles

What is a Medicine Circle? Medicine Circles support sensitive women through our transitions into beautiful, better version of ourselves. This may be with menopausal, menstruating or perimenopausal women who want to deepen their understanding of their cycles and use this understanding to heal and deepen their joy in being a woman. This is what my clients have experienced. “Experiencing the menstrual medicine circle with Kate has been life changing & profoundly healing. It has allowed me to connect to my Womb’s wisdom, deepening understanding of my truth and connection to the feminine with potent, ethereal & visceral insights that often ...

Mary Singing Woman – about f**king time

This adventure into the feminine landscape is from Mary Singing Woman and is part of the Pants of Empowerment project, where women share the voice of their feminine nature and in return, receive a fantastic pair of pants to empower them. Mary Singing Woman has cervical cancer and wanted to explore what her pelvic bowl had to contribute to her healing. All names have been changed.   Who would like to speak today? Which of these aspects of yourself need to communicate her wisdom?   It’s really hard to separate, I feel my womb, then I feel my fallopian tubes are coming around like a cloak… my ovaries… the whole of it wants to ...

Biodynamic Therapy in Menopause

One of the best gifts I gave myself during my sabbatical was to have Biodynamic Therapy in Menopause. As a process of healing and self-actualisation, menopause worked her magic on me in the Biodynamic sessions giving me access to my own bliss. I shared more of my therapy adventures with WellDoing and you can read it here. I integrate Biodynamic therapy into Intuitive Bodywork sessions and you can find out about that here.

The Shocking Truth About Menopause

Dried up old crone, old bag, hag, witch... is it just me, or do you think that we might have a bit of an issue about women aging? For the generation who grew up with Madonna, hitting menopause now, is there really only a choice between ‘tragically letting yourself go’ or desperately stretching your face and body into oblivion (sorry Madge, looks weird)?   You only have to check out the nasty shaming that Susan Sarandon received at the SAG awards last month, while the cleavages belonging to her 20-30 year old colleagues were ‘safe’.   Yes my friends, it’s International Women’s Day again and time for my annual, ...

Rebozo Bodywork Testimonial

I am profoundly grateful to Rowena Ronson for writing this piece about her experience of receiving Rebozo bodywork. It is a great example of how creating safe boundaries allows the healing to emerge from within us. "I felt like I had been given a gift – a confirmation of my connection to source and earth and to the never-ending flow of life and time." You can find Rowena's article on the Double Take blog, the photo was taken by Rowena and is called Embryo.
